When is raksha bandhan being celebrated in 2023:

Raksha Bandhan is an auspicious Hindu festival that is celebrated on the last day of Shravan month. It is celebrated throughout the country but with different names and rituals. The word ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is a Sansktrit word that signifies bond or an obligation. It is considered as the purest bond between brother and sister.

This year Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated on 30th August but it can be celebrated on 31st august as well due to the bhadra kaal.

Low sugar Raksha Bandhan recipes-

I am gonna share some simple and healthy raksha bandhan recipes that one can easily prepare with simple and easily available ingredients at home –

Malai rolls –

Preparation time – 10 minutes

Cooking time – 10 minutes

Ingredients –

bread slices = 1

low fat cream = 20 g

grated coconut = 20 g

condensed milk = 1 tbsp

almonds = 4-5 pieces

servings – 2

Nutritional Information –

Energy = 187 kcal

Protein = 3.2 g

Fat = 11.3 g

How to make – Roll the bread slices with a rolling pin. Meanwhile, whip the low fat cream to make whipped cream. With the help of a spatula, apply a thin layer of this whipped cream over the flattened bread slice and then gently roll the bread. pour or brush the roll with condensed milk and then dip/dress it with the grated coconut and chopped almonds. Cut the roll in two pieces and serve after refrigerating it for an hour.

Choco Coconut –

Preparation time – 10 minutes

Cooking time – 15 minutes

Ingredients –

coconut – 20 g

chocolate – 10 g

skimmed milk powder – 15 g

stevia – 2 tbsp

cardamom powder – 1 tsp

Nutritional Information –

Energy – 155 kcal

Protein – 4.7 g

Fat – 9 g

Servings – 2

How to Make – grate the coconut and meanwhile take chopped chocolate in a glass bowl. place the chocolate bowl over a water bath (bigger bowl of steel containing 500 ml boiling water). Now add skimmed milk powder into the grated coconut. Mix it well and then add cardamom powder and stevia. Mix it well and then make small ladoo sized balls. dip these coconut balls into the melted chocolate and place in a tray. place this tray in the refrigerator for 2 hours. once chilled, serve.

Besan ka halwa –

Preparation time – 5 minutes

Cooking time – 20 minutes

Ingredients –

besan – 30 g

dates sugar – 25 g

almonds – 5 pc.

cardamom powder – 1 tsp

ghee – 20 g

Nutritional Information –

Energy – 184 kcal

Protein – 7.5 g

Fat – 22.2 g

Servings – 2

How to Make – In a heavy base pan take 50 ml water and add dates sugar. Add 3-4 strands of saffron. Keep on stirring it continuously till it starts boiling in a kadhai, take ghee and heat it up. Once hot, add besan and with continuously stirring, roast it till it turns golden brown. Now add dates sugar syrup into the roasted besan.. Now add chopped almonds to the halwa and then add cardamom powder.
